BC Young Leaders’ 6th annual Leadership Conference took place virtually from October 18 to 19, 2021!
2020 showed us the power of digital acceleration and innovation.
This year we’re diving into “Harnessing the Leader Within” to tap into your existing strengths and identify new areas of growth to help you develop into a truly authentic leader. The entire focus of our conference is on YOU. Build Yourself. Believe in Yourself. Brand Yourself. You will have unique opportunities to learn from and engage with industry leaders, trailblazers and your peers!
Join us for interactive and immersive learning, breakout and networking sessions including:
- Authentic Leadership keynote by Ritu Bhasin
- Identifying and developing your top strengths with a facilitated session around the CliftonStrengths Assessment by Amber Stutzman

- Learn how to build and promote your own personal brand and stand out on LinkedIn with Chanèle McFarlane
All weaved together by your conference hosts, which include our very own BCYL Working Committee members and inspirational young leaders (like you!) from within the greater BCYL network. Learn more about hosting opportunities in our scholarship application (please refer to the scholarship section).
Ready to harness that powerful leader within you? Register today! The deadline to register is Sunday, October 17, 2021.
In the meantime, hear from Ritu Bhasin on Authenticity in the Workplace!
We know that everyone’s situation is different, especially in these ever-changing times. To make our Conference as accessible as possible and provide opportunities to young leaders who might not otherwise have the resources, we’re excited to announce that BCYL will be offering five scholarships to attend our Leadership Conference this October.
To apply, send us a 2–3-minute video on why you should be selected as a scholarship recipient, how attending the conference will benefit yourself, your credit union and/or the credit union system. If you’ve already registered and paid for a spot, you can still apply for this scholarship.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, September 10, and all applicants will be notified of their application status by Friday, September 17.

Two Young Leaders go to Italy!
July 17 - July 21, 2017
The BC Young Leaders Network provided 2 of our young leader members each with a $4000 sponsorship to assist with their cost of attending the BCIT Executive Cooperative Field School in Vicenza, Northern Italy this past July. Northern Italy has been widely recognized as one of the world’s leading examples of a successful cooperative economy. The young leaders spent a week with a small group of CEO’s from the Canadian Credit Union system and were exposed to the Italian Cooperative Model; a model that demonstrates how cooperative relations among small local firms can serve global markets.

November 17 - November 18, 2016
This was a fast-paced, high-impact two-day event that combined thought-provoking workshops with action learning challenges to create a unique conference experience that supported the development of leadership and strategic thinking skills.
